¡Feliz Día de Muertos!

As every year, I'm going to spend the day at my dad's shrine with my family. We went yesterday, too, since we always spend both November 1 and 2 at the cemetery. I love to be there during these days because everything is so colorful and, ironically, full of life and love.

If you want to know about this wonderful Mexican celebration you can check out this post. For me, this is one of the most beautiful traditions we have in my beloved country.

How absolutely beautiful. I think it is an amazing tradition, but I'm so sorry for the loss of your father, too. *hugs*

It's a very beautiful tradition indeed :) Thank you! *hugs* It's been a bit over 11 years since my dad died so I guess it doesn't hurt me as much anymore, still I miss him a lot and I believe this kind of celebrations have allowed me to remember him without feeling sad, instead it makes me happy because we remember all the good things he left us.

Thank you for the link of information. I saw things related to Day of the Dead going up Friday afternoon, but I don't know why Friday. It was at the Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine and I saw the displays on the walk back to my car after work.

You're welcome! I don't know either, maybe because it was the last day of the week? The Day of the Dead can be celebrated both on November 1 and 2 but hadn't heard of celebrations on October 30. I'm glad to know there were displays of this tradition where you live :)

Oh it's okay! I bet I have a lot of mistakes, too, just that I don't always notice. I see, sorry you missed it but I'm glad it's caught your attention on TV. Yes, marrigolds are very popular! They're called "cempasúchil" here. I didn't know you were a gardener, it's awesome to know a lot about flowers!

Yeah, it was a bad situation but it was great to be able to talk. Thank you so much! I hope I can be here for you, too.

Have you seen the new James Bond film. The opening scene is of this festival in Mexico city and it's really well done. The festival looks amazing. I'd never really understood it before seeing that.

The opening of Spectre began featuring this festival, and it looked absolutely gorgeous. So colourful. It's something I'd like to experience one day going to this festival.

It's very beautiful! Though I didn't really take it, I wish we could spend the night at the cemetery but it's not allowed here :( *big hugs* <333
